Becoming a Kiteboarding Student

The easiest part of learning to kiteboard is becoming a student with Extreme Sports Dallas. We kiteboard year-round, seven days a week (wind permitting) so all you need to do is:

1) Fill out the Student Information Form and the Declaration of Fitness; Liability Release Form by clicking on the following links. Student Information Form. Liability Release Form.

2)  We'll add you to our Wind Alert email/SMS list. Once included, you'll receive updates on expected wind days (never any spam) usually 24 hours in advance (often several days in advance if the weather patterns and wind forecasts are clear) then,

3) When you're ready to get started, simply respond to our Wind Alert notice to setup a session that best matches your schedule and wind preference. The schedule is updated daily to reflect current wind forecasts. When demand for time/wind exceeds available time/wind, priority will be given to senior students.

All necessary gear (with the exception of clothing and wetsuits) is provided by us, so when planning for your first ground lesson, all you need to bring are the agreed upon fee and clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting a little scuffed and grass stained.

For cold weather water lessons, we highly recommend wearing a wetsuit and, for your safety won't be able to take you out on the water without one if the water temperatures are too low. Wetsuits are highly recommended when water temperatures are below 70 degrees as they will greatly increase your comfort and allow for better concentration. Wetsuits vary in thickness and sport applicability, so if you have any doubts about which suit is best for you, we're happy to make recommendations. As an authorized dealer for O'Neill Wetsuits and NP (Neil Pryde) Wetsuits, we can satisfy all of your wetsuit, wetsuit accessory and water apparel needs.
